History of the wine:
Our Eibelstadter Mönchsleite Altenberg 1172 Silvaner I is inspired by the wine of the same name with which Walter Leininger received the State Honorary Prize for the best wine at the Franconian Wine Awards in 1969. Our top Silvaner still grows in the same vineyard plot today. Our goal was to recapture the success of Walter Leininger's earlier achievements. With the 2021 vintage, we succeeded, receiving today's equivalent of that award: the Ceratit Nodosus. Best-of-Gold!
